Clairvoyance, based on a 17th Century term which means clear vision, is a form of ESP - Extra Sensory Perception. Although frequently used to describe a variety of psychic abilities, such as second sight, telepathy, prophetic thoughts and psychic goals, it is strictly speaking the capability to discern information about a person, object, place or event by means of perception other than through the usual five sensory faculties. A person gifted using this ability is called a clairvoyant - a person who sees clearly.
In parapsychology, the word clairvoyance is used purely to explain information - in the present time and not really readily accessible to the actual clairvoyant - caused by an external source, instead of telepathy, where information is moved from one mind to a different. In other words, a clairvoyant has the ability to see or perhaps visualise events, items or persons away from capability or range of physical sight.
Remote viewing, usually a governed, specific process, is a facet of voyance telephone espoir, as is email dreaming. For instance, a person may dream about a location they've never seen before and later on find it is exactly as they had visualised it in their dream.
This became of me, for example, once i was about to start my own first term at school. As I had never frequented the city where the university was located, my Father offered to take me there in order to find just how from the train station for the college. Having dreamed about it the night before we went, I had been able to lead him to the school along the shortest course possible, knowing wherever and when to turn. I was even able to make sure he understands how long it would take us to get right now there.
However, outside of the field of parapsychology the term is often used to describe other types of paranormal, or anomalous, perception. Generally, it is used in relation to the perception of past (retro cognition) or future (precognition) events. This can be a gift many possess without even realising this. To use another knowledge as an example (and I do not claim to be a clairvoyant in any way), a few years ago, a friend's daughter had gone into hospital early in the evening to have her first child. Although with a group of shared friends around 10 PM, an individual suggested we should phone the hospital and find out how she was getting on. As one of them found the phone, I introduced that a call would be wasted, as she had have a little boy during the early hours of the following morning. We referred to as anyway and were advised she was in bed as the labour experienced slowed. My friend said the next morning that her grandson came to be at 5:30 AM.
Frequently, mediums will also refer to the actual perception of images identified during communication with spirits as clairvoyance.
Regardless, clairvoyance is a precious reward which can and should supply in order to help and guide others.
